Harbury Village Library Home Delivery Service

The health and safety of library users and volunteers is of paramount importance at this time, so in designing our Click and Collect, Home Delivery and Book Takeaway services we have taken into account advice and guidance from Central and Local Government, Public Health England, the Department for Digital Culture Media and Sport, and Libraries Connected. Full information is available on our page about Libraries and Covid-19.

Our Home Delivery Service works as follows:

  • Choose one or more books from our Online Book Catalogue and select the Home Delivery option.

  • We will record your request in our Library Management System (LMS) and get the books ready for you. If a book has recently returned from loan it will be left in quarantine until 72 hours has elapsed since it was last touched

  • Volunteers will deliver the books to you as soon as possible after having received your request.

  • Books being delivered will be wrapped in paper or plastic and will have a note prominently displayed advising recipients not to open the book parcel for 24 hours after receipt.

  • When you have finished with your books you can either keep hold of them until Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, or return them to the library on Mondays and Thursdays during our Click and Collect and Book Takeaway sessions.

  • Please note, at this time all overdue fines are being waived for both Blue Label and Warwickshire County Library books.

  • There will be boxes available for returned books and donated books. Any books returned to the library, or donated for the Book Takeaway shelves, will be placed in "quarantine" and not be loaned to another library user for at 72 hours.

Until further notice it will be possible to Collect requested books, Return borrowed books, Donate books and Select books from our Takeaway shelf on Mondays, from 10 am to 12.30 pm, and on Thursdays from 2 pm to 4 pm.
