Harbury Village Library and Covid-19

As of week commencing 5th July 2020, Harbury Village Library and Biblio's Café have resumed operation with reduced services. Every care has been taken to provide a safe environment for all visitors and volunteers. In preparing to open we have followed the guidelines set out in the recently published Libraries Recovery Toolkit. We fear, however, that it will be a long time before we are able to operate in the same way as before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Details of the Risk Assessment carried out and our Covid-19 Operating Procedures can be found in the following documents:

Advice from Public Health England

During the COVID-19 emergency every person, including librarians, is being encouraged to wash their hands more frequently to protect themselves from any contaminated surfaces. The risk from books covered in a plastic cover handled by someone who is a possible COVID-19 case is negligible after 72 hours. The risk from books with a cardboard/paper cover is negligible after 24 hours.
