Sign up at Harbury Village Library from Saturday, 16th July
The Summer Reading Challenge this year, which is open to all children between the ages of 4 and 12, will be launched this Saturday, 16th July, in Harbury Village Library. Along with the opportunity to sign up for and begin the Challenge, there will be refreshments available which reflect this year’s theme, the Big Friendly Read, which is based on Roald Dahl’s children’s books, in particular the BFG. There will also be quizzes, a treasure hunt and other activities. Throughout the summer holidays, as children read any six library books, they will collect various goodies such as rainbow glasses and complete a card collector folder which gives access to other apps and websites. On completion, they will receive a medal and certificate at a special presentation ceremony.
Do come along on Saturday morning to join in the fun if you can, but if you are unable to do so your child can register to start anytime in the summer holidays during our opening hours of 9-5 Monday – Friday and 10-12 on Saturdays. All they need is their Warwickshire library card, or to join on the day. But remember: the earlier they begin, the quicker they can finish their six books and complete the Challenge!
